The
elementary years are a time of transition in a child’s
life. It is our desire to provide a safe and fun environment
while teaching basic Bible principles each week. Our program
consists of kid connection time, followed by “large
group” where the kids sing and hear a relevant Bible
story presented through drama, puppets or videos. The remainder
of the hour is spent in small groups to discuss and personalize
the day’s lesson. The kids are divided into grade
level groups and are shepherded by an adult who desires
to model Christ and to build a Christ-centered relationship
with each child. We hope that our kids become more excited
about God each service! |
What
is my child learning about God in Sonlight?
|
|
| |
In
Sonlight, we desire to give kids a sequential view of the
Bible so they can better understand how the people and
events all fit together to tell God's story. We also want
to show how much God wants each and every one of us to
become part of His story. Kids hear stories from the Old
Testament and New Testament—stories about Daniel,
Joseph, Zacchaeus, Nehemiah, Paul and, of course, Jesus!
They begin to see the Scriptures in sequence and discover
how core Biblical truths apply to their lives. |
Help us provide the BEST hour each
week...
|
|
| • |
Upon
your first visit, fill out the registration form. |
| • |
At
each subsequent visit, register your child so we can locate
you if needed and we have a record of your child’s
attendance. Please list any special concerns we should
be aware of on the sign-in sheet. |
| • |
You
will be given a numbered tag that matches the number
we give your child on his nametag. If your child needs
you during the hour, the number will be displayed on the
side screens in the auditorium. |
| • |
Return
the numbered nametag to claim your child at the end of
the hour. Children will only be released to parents with
the numbered nametag. |
| • |
Encourage
your child to bring a Bible and complete any suggested
reinforcement activities during the week. |
| • |
We
always have an offering project going on for preschool
and elementary ages. Watch for newsletters or posters to
find out how your child can get involved. |
| • |
Feel
free to ask any questions. Visit your child’s class
anytime. Make any suggestions or comments! We are here
to serve you. |
